The organizing committees for the 15th National Games of China held a press conference in Guangzhou on Wednesday to outline their latest preparations, as they aim to deliver a high-quality edition of the competition and elevate the country's standards in sports event organization.
With Guangdong Province and the Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions co-hosting this year's National Games, spectators can anticipate exciting competition highlights across the Greater Bay Area.
Guangzhou will get a peek at the diving "dream team," for example, while the fencing events will be held at Hong Kong's newly-completed Kai Tak Sports Park. Other popular sports like table tennis and women's volleyball are scheduled to take place in Macao.
Regarding ticket sales, at least 65% of venue seats will be open for public purchase. Spectators throughout all three competition zones will have the convenience of buying tickets online from a unified platform, with on-site purchasing options also available.
Technology is set to play a significant role, with humanoid robots leading the torch relay and an innovative approach to extinguishing the flame anticipated at the closing ceremony.
In addition, key hubs such as Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Dongguan will launch three inter-city rail lines and seven subway lines to enhance transportation by connecting event venues and accommodation sites.
The host cities are also leveraging the National Games to drive coordinated development between sports and urban growth.
