As Israel and Iran declared a ceasefire, concerns remain over its fragility and the risk of further escalation in the Middle East. Speaking to CGTN's Wang Guan, UN under-secretary-general Jorge Moreira da Silva warned that renewed conflicts could worsen an already dire situation. He said with over 105 million people displaced globally, peace has become a basic right which a quarter of the world's population currently lacks. He called for global efforts to recommit to peace as enshrined in the UN Charter.
