40,000 evacuated as floodwaters rise in SW China's Rongjiang

Rongjiang County in southwest China's Guizhou Province raised its flood alert to the highest level on June 28. The local government issued an urgent notice, ordering all residents in the county's seven major flood zones to evacuate immediately. An official told CGTN that, as of 6 p.m., over 40,000 people had been relocated to safer areas due to the flood risk.
