"Chinese soup is fantastic, truly impressive." During his first visit to China, legendary Japanese animation director Shinichiro Watanabe, was not only captivated by China's culinary delights but also deeply impressed by the vibrant energy of its animation industry. Renowned for directing the acclaimed anime series "Cowboy Bebop" and "Samurai Champloo," Watanabe expressed eagerness to collaborate with Chinese animators on a broader stage in the future.
In an era increasingly dominated by 3D technology, Watanabe remains a steadfast guardian of hand-drawn animation. He passionately encourages aspiring animators: "If someone has a dream of becoming a hand-drawn animator, or wants to complete a work using hand-drawing, then I highly recommend they pursue this path. Don't hesitate; take that crucial first step! I firmly believe that hand-drawn animation will not die out."
