Native to Hainan Province, the Hainan Eld's deer is a national first-class protected animal in China and is categorized as an endangered species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature. Established in Hainan in the 1970s, the Bangxi nature reserve is one of the most important habitats for the Hainan Eld's deer. Through ongoing conservation efforts, the reserve has become a beautiful natural habitat for the deer. Currently, there are over 200 Hainan Eld's deer living there.
