At the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Armenia's Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan recently visited Beijing and sat down for an exclusive interview with CGTN's Cui Yingjie. Calling the trip "a timely opportunity to assess what has been achieved and map the road ahead," Mirzoyan highlighted key milestones in bilateral ties, from a $700 million trade turnover increase in 2024 to the launch of a direct flight between Yerevan and Urumqi.
He praised China's active role in international diplomacy and peacebuilding, noting Armenia's alignment with China on core principles such as multilateralism, territorial integrity, and dialogue-based conflict resolution. Emphasizing synergy between Armenia's "Crossroads of Peace" initiative and China's Belt and Road vision, Mirzoyan expressed readiness to deepen Armenia's engagement within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
