Commenting on the so-called Taiwan Non-Discrimination Act recently passed by the U.S. House of Representatives, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said that Taiwan has no basis, reason, or right to participate in the United Nations and other international organizations that only sovereign states can join. She also urged the U.S. to adhere to the one-China principle and the three China-U.S. joint communiqués and to respect international law and the basic norms governing international relations.
