In 1949, Yan Dingzhao's father, Yan Luoguo, was conscripted by the Kuomintang and taken from his home on Dongshan Island to Taiwan. He would never return home. In 1983, the family learned that Luoguo had died. But it would be a further 35 years before 82-year-old Dingzhao was finally able to travel to Penghu and bring his father’s remains back to his hometown for burial. #Taiwanthroughtheages
