China beat Jordan 97-78 in a classification game at the FIBA Under-19 Basketball World Cup in Lausanne, Switzerland, on Saturday, ending their five-game losing streak with the first win at the tournament.

China replaced injured Zhu Zheng with Yang Yi in the starting point guard position and he responded to the team's trust with a master playmaking performance. Though Yang missed all five of his field goals, he delivered 17 assists for every teammate to be involved offensively and for their side to win.

Yang's work also set a new record of assists delivered by one player in one single game at the World Cup.

China led in all of the first three quarters with an 81-54 advantage thanks to Yang's orchestrating efforts. Though Jordan rallied to cut their deficit by eight points in the fourth quarter, they failed to shake China's victory.

China had four players score double-digit points, led by Zhang Boyuan's 22 off the bench. Huan Sinan also scored 16 points and five blocks off the bench. Chen Jiazheng and Cui Xinquan contributed 17 and 14 points respectively.

China will play Camerron on Sunday in a game that will determine their ranking.
