As China's leading candidate for UNESCO World Heritage status in 2025, the Xixia Imperial Tombs is nestled in the vast Gobi Desert at the eastern foothills of Helan Mountains. This archaeological complex contains nine imperial mausoleums, 271 subsidiary tombs, and over 7,100 artifacts, earning its nickname as the "Pyramids of the East."
