China produced over 13 million new energy vehicles in 2024, with nearly 1.4 million in Hefei, capital of Anhui province capital. The city has fostered six top automobile manufacturers including BYD, NIO and JAC, and has built a complete industry chain ranging from research and development of battery systems, to whole vehicle assembly - a chain that is highly automated using AI.
