Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain will face each other for the FIFA Club World Cup title in the final at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on Sunday.
PSG are considered by many as favorites after smashing Real Madrid 4-0 in the semifinals on Wednesday. One day earlier, Chelsea beat Fluminense 2-0 in the other last four game. However, the Premier League powerhouse's Moises Caicedo appeared to twist his ankle during the game.
There were concerns about Caicedo's availability for the final, but he has already returned to training. The player himself hinted on social media that his injury was not serious and expressing confidence about playing against PSG. His participation in training further suggested that he be on track.
Nonetheless, manager Enzo Maresca may still have several challenges to overcome about Chelsea's roster because five of his players could potentially miss the final. Wesley Fofana, is recovering from a hamstring injury; new signing Dario Essugo is dealing with a muscular issue. Additionally, uncertainty looms over Noni Madueke's involvement amid reports that the Blues have accepted a bid from Arsenal for the English striker.
