Civilizational dialogue for a better future: Egypt's former leader on China's GCI, BRI

Essam Sharaf, former prime minister of Egypt, emphasized the significance of the Global Civilization Initiative (GCI) in fostering dialogue, trust and mutual understanding, calling it a transformative platform for building a more equitable and inclusive world order.

He also highlighted the deep-rooted ties between China and Egypt, noting that the millennia-old civilizational connections – forged through the ancient Silk Road – have been revitalized under Chinese President Xi Jinping's leadership and the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). By merging historical wisdom with modern cooperation frameworks like the BRI, Sharaf believes the two great civilizations can make substantial contributions to global development and human progress.

To global youth, he shared a clear message: "If the young people respect and absorb others and accept diversity, our world will be definitely better."
