In the early hours of July 14 Beijing Time, Chinese team VKG (VK Gaming) claimed the Apex Legends Championship at the 2025 Esports World Cup (EWC 2025) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. VKG secured 96 points, finishing nine points ahead of the runner-up to take home the $600,000 championship prize.
The victory was China's first-ever Apex Legends world title and the first championship won by a Chinese team at this year's Esports World Cup.
Chen Yin-hong (ID: QQ), 18, from China's Taiwan region, representing VKG, was named MVP of the series for his consistent and outstanding performance throughout the finals.
The 2025 Esports World Cup runs from July 8 to August 24, and features a record-breaking $70 million prize pool, the largest in esports history.
