A spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office on Wednesday strongly condemned Taiwan regional leader Lai Ching-te's "10 lectures on unity," calling it a blatant attempt to tout separatist ideology and fuel confrontation across the Taiwan Straits.

In response to a question on whether Lai's remarks have crossed a red line and how the mainland intends to respond, Chen Binhua, spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, denounced the speech as "riddled with lies and deceit, hostility and provocation."

The speech, he noted, was a "distorted, fragmented narrative" aimed at manipulating history and misleading public opinion on the island.

The so-called 10 lectures on unity are nothing but a hodgepodge of pro-independence fallacies, Chen said, accusing Lai of using the speech to incite division and mobilize separatist sentiment within Taiwan society.

"This fully reveals his stubborn separatist nature," Chen continued. "He is, in essence, a 'saboteur of peace,' a 'warmonger' and a troublemaker.'"

Chen also pointed out that the root cause of tensions in the Taiwan Straits lies in the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP)'s continued push for "Taiwan independence" and repeated provocations.

"Taiwan is an inalienable part of China," he said. "We will never allow any separatist force, in any name or form, to separate Taiwan from the motherland."

Any attempt to split China will face firm resistance from all Chinese people, Chen warned.
