In a strong rebuke to Lai Ching-te's "10 lectures on unity," Yu Szi-hsiang, vice president of Shih Hsin University, said they were designed to "manipulate the narrative." He questioned the timing of their release just before the recall vote. He argued that the topics were forced, the content full of gaps and even that it contained basic errors, leading to public doubts about whether the speaker had "chickened out."
Yu Szi-hsiang also said the lectures would only escalate cross-Straits tensions and further divide Taiwan internally.
