The Chinese mainland on Wednesday criticized the Taiwan authorities for threatening to deprive the Chinese Kuomintang party veterans on the island of their retirement benefits after being invited to join the activities in the mainland to mark the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. A spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council said that this is disgraceful and should be condemned.
