Editor's Note: As the world's urban population continues to grow, the housing crisis has become one of the most pressing challenges of our time. Billions still live without access to safe, affordable, and dignified shelter, threatening social stability, public health, and sustainable development worldwide. What can be done to reverse this trend? Are there models we can learn from to build more inclusive cities? In this edition of Leaders Talk, CMG's Wang Guan sits down with Anacláudia Rossbach, executive director of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), to discuss the urgent need for global solidarity, as 2.8 billion people live in inadequate housing. She offers insights into tackling one of humanity's biggest challenges. Rossbach highlights China's remarkable urban transformation and renewal, calling it a model worth studying and promoting. Chinese cities are people-centered, she notes, and China's expertise can be applied in other contexts.
