Chinese divers had a day to savor at the World University Games in Germany after claiming a 1-2 finish in the women's 3-meter springboard.

Wang Weiying, no stranger to the podium with a silver from the 10-meter platform on Sunday and gold in the synchronized 3-meter springboard on Saturday, maintained her composure throughout, leading from start to finish. Her brilliance was enough to win the gold with a commanding 344.25 points.

Hot on her heels was teammate Qu Zhixin, who secured silver, trailing by 25.70 points. German hopeful Lena Hentschel rounded out the podium with bronze, much to the delight of the home crowd.

In the pool, the Chinese women's 4x200 meters freestyle relay team, comprising Ge Chutong, Yu Liyan, Liu Shuhan, and Ai Yanhan, put in a valiant effort. Despite crossing the line first with a respectable 7 minutes, 57.91 seconds, they had to settle for silver as the USA clinched the gold.

Ai Yanhan also stamped her authority individually, advancing to the final of the women's 200 meters freestyle as the third fastest qualifier in the semi-finals. Positioned in lane six of heat one, she was edged out by the American Cavin Gormsen, who touched the wall first. Meanwhile, Ge Chutong stormed into the final of the women's 200 meters individual medley, coming in seventh in the semis.

In track and field, Slovenia's Klara Lukan stole the show in the women's 10,000 meters final, blazing across the finish line in 31 minutes, 25.84 seconds, a new event record. China fielded two athletes in the race: Ma Xiuzhen finished 12th, while Li Yingcui's result was disqualified.
