A spokesperson for the U.S. State Department announced on Tuesday that the United States would withdraw from the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), marking the third time the U.S. has declared its exit from the organization.
In a statement, the spokesperson Tammy Bruce said the U.S.' continued participation in UNESCO is not in its "national interest." The withdrawal will take effect on December 31, 2026.
