A variety of national protected bird species — including the dazzling bee-eater, white-throated kingfisher, and black-capped kingfisher — were spotted diving for food and playfully cooling off in the waters of Nanchang, Jiangxi Province, reflecting the region's rich biodiversity. Blue-throated bee-eaters are hailed as the "most beautiful bird in China" and are adept at catching dragonflies, butterflies, bees, beetles and other insects in midair.
