The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) stated on July 22 that, as of Sunday, the conflict in Syria's southern Sweida province had forced more than 93,000 people to flee their homes, with some seeking refuge in neighboring Daraa province and the rural Damascus area. A CGTN stringer in Syria interviewed several local residents at a shelter in the area, as well as Farid Fallani, the mayor of Nahta town, asking them to recall their horrific experiences during the conflict and describe the current situation.

Local residents say they once lived in peace with the Druze, like brothers, without any distinction between them. But everything changed overnight. They were forced to flee within two hours, leaving empty-handed. Their homes were burned, and women and children were brutally killed in front of them. One resident said, "We took nothing with us and had no choice but to flee. Now we can only survive in shelters." They are calling on the outside world to provide drinking water, lighting and emergency medical aid.
