Thai acting Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai announced in a statement on Wednesday that Thailand will immediately downgrade the level of diplomatic relations with Cambodia. He added that the government has recalled its ambassador to Cambodia and expelled the Cambodian envoy to Thailand.

The government will consider further adjustments to diplomatic relations based on the situation, according to the statement.
