Ethiopia-China exchange event opens in Beijing, celebrating 55 years of diplomatic ties

The Embassy of Ethiopia in China came alive with rhythm, color and the rich aroma of coffee in Beijing on Thursday as it hosted a cultural showcase to commemorate the 55th anniversary of diplomatic ties between China and Ethiopia. 

Dozens of Ethiopian performers in traditional attire captivated an audience with energetic dances, soulful music and dazzling acrobatics, offering a window into Ethiopia's diverse cultural heritage. The traditional coffee ceremony – symbolizing hospitality – was a crowd favorite.

After Beijing, the showcase will tour other Chinese cities to further connect the two peoples and lay the groundwork for expanded cooperation in tourism, education and the creative industries.
