CGTN brings the Great Migration to millions worldwide

02:42

The Great Migration is the annual movement of millions of wildebeest, zebras and other herbivores from the Serengeti in Tanzania to Masai Mara in Kenya, primarily between July and October. The largest herd movement of animals on the planet, which is visible from space, is driven by the search for fresh grazing land and water following seasonal rains. The dramatic river crossings of the Mara River, where wildebeest face predators like crocodiles, are widely regarded as the highlight of this raw and riveting wildlife event.

CGTN has made this natural wonder accessible to millions worldwide via a special livestream titled "The Great Migration 2025" starting on July 25 and running until July 27. Kenyan President William Ruto delivered a speech at the launch of the livestream as several scholars shared their own experiences of the Great Migration while extending a warm invitation to global audiences to witness firsthand the cycle of life in action.
