Zhurihe Pasture is located in the Horqin Left Middle Banner of Tongliao City, north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It spans more than 1,300 square kilometers, with 15,000 residents scattered across the expansive grasslands. Traditional policing methods struggled to keep pace – until 2018, when local officers launched a new package known as "backpack policing".

Riding horses across vast distances, they've been innovating ever since, bringing security, services and support straight to herders' doorsteps.
