Chengdu Rongcheng beat Beijing Guoan 2-0 at home in Chengdu, southwest China's Sichuan Province, on Saturday, securing their first win in three matches in the Chinese Super League (CSL). Beijing, on the other hand, suffered a second straight league loss and fell to third place, trailing Shanghai Port on goals scored, while Shanghai Shenhua continue to top the table.

Rongcheng found the net first in the 33rd minute, following a free kick. Gan Chao received the ball and sent a low cross into the box from the right wing, which De Erjiaduo converted to break the deadlock. The hosts went on to finish the first half with a 1-0 lead.

Chengdu doubled their advantage 20 minutes into the second half. Timo Letschert beat two defenders in the box, before firing the ball past goalkeeper Hou Sen to make it 2-0.

Rongcheng remained in fourth place in the CSL standings after securing their 11th win of the season. They sit one point behind second-placed Port and third-placed Guoan, while Shenhua hold a three-point lead at the top, ahead of Sunday night's home match against Henan.

Qingdao West Coast hold Shanghai Port to 2-2 draw on road

Shanghai Port were held to a 2-2 draw by Qingdao West Coast at home in east China's Shanghai Municipality. Leonardo appeared to open the scoring for the hosts two minutes into the match, but the attempt was disallowed because he was offside.

Port earned a penalty at the end of the first half, when Gabrielzinho was taken down by Yang Xi in the box. Leonardo's kick bounced off the post, and even though his follow-up attempt found the net, the effort was ruled out because no other player had touched ball before he took the shot.

The home side finally scored in the first minute of stoppage time. Mateus Vital's long shot was saved by goalkeeper Li Hao, but Leonardo was perfectly positioned to fire the rebound into the net, giving Port a 1-0 lead.

West Coast leveled the score in the 60th minute, when Duan Liuyu found Nelson da Luz, who scored from outside the box. But Port regained the advantage two minutes later, as Wang Shenchao earned another penalty kick, which was successfully converted by Gabrielzinho.

Duan set up the second equalizer for West Coast in the 86th minute. His low cross from the left was tapped into the net by Gao Di to save the visitors from defeat. Port still leapfrogged Beijing Guoan for second place despite the draw, as both teams have 38 points and the same goal difference after the first 18 games, with the side from Shanghai having scored and conceded three more goals.

In the night's other match, Yunnan Yukun beat Shenzhen Peng City 3-1 at home in Yuxi, southwest China's Yunnan Province, rising to seventh place in the CSL standings. Pedro Henrique and Dilmurat Mawlanyaz scored in the 25th and 33rd minutes, respectively, to put Yukun ahead 2-0. Wesley pulled one back for the visitors in the 42nd minute, but Hou Yongyong sealed the win for the hosts in the fourth minute of stoppage time.
