China calls on U.S. to enhance cooperation through dialogue, communication

The Chinese Foreign Ministry on Monday called on the United States to work with China to implement the important consensus reached during the call between the two heads of state, and strengthen cooperation through dialogue and communication on the basis of equality, respect and mutual benefit.

Guo Jiakun, a spokesperson for the ministry, made the remarks at a regular press briefing in response to a query on the economic and trade talks between the two country in Sweden.

On economic and trade issues, China's position is consistent and clear, Guo said, urging the U.S. to work with China to leverage the role of the China-U.S. economic and trade consultation mechanism, enhance consensus, reduce misunderstandings, and strengthen cooperation through dialogue and communication on the basis of equality, respect and mutual benefit to promote stable, healthy and sustainable development of bilateral relations.
