On Monday morning, heavy rains triggered flash floods in Beijing's Miyun District, trapping dozens at a senior care center in Taishitun Town. Unable to get rescue equipment to the scene, firefighters swam into the flooded facility, built a lifeline with ropes, and carefully evacuated 48 elderly residents to safety.
Since Sunday, Beijing has been on high alert, with torrential rains prompting flood and landslide warnings across multiple districts. Rescue and evacuation efforts are ongoing.
