On the morning of July 27, a van with 14 passengers went missing when crossing a bridge in Tianzhen County, Datong City, north China's Shanxi Province. According to a local emergency rescue command center, one person has been confirmed dead, while 13 others remain missing. Local authorities deployed drones, helicopters, inflatable boats and other equipment to boost the search and rescue efforts. The county issued a red alert for flash floods at 4 a.m. on July 27. Heavy rains have submerged roads, bridges and farmland in the area.
