Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump may meet in Beijing on the sidelines of events marking the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II. In response to media inquiries, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said China looks forward to the potential meeting between the two leaders. Guo noted that both Russia and the United States are permanent members of the UN Security Council and major global powers. He said China welcomes improvements in Russia-U.S. relations and hopes such developments will contribute to global peace and stability.
