China has called for making full use of the China-U.S.economic and trade consultation mechanism to deliver more mutually beneficial results, following a new round of trade talks held in Stockholm.
In response to a question on the latest Stockholm talks, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun emphasized the importance of dialogue.
"We hope the U.S. will work with China to fully leverage the consultation mechanism in line with the important consensus reached by the two heads of state during their recent phone conversation," Guo said at a regular press briefing on Wednesday.
He added that China hopes both sides will continue to build consensus, reduce misunderstandings, and strengthen cooperation through dialogue based on equality and mutual respect, and reciprocity.
Guo voiced the hope that the two sides could strive for more win-win outcomes to jointly promote the sound, stable, and sustainable development of China-U.S.relations.
