Jan Egeland, secretary-general of the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), expressed concern over Israel's recent airdrop aid operations in Gaza. He noted that each high-cost mission delivers only 25 tonnes of supplies – the equivalent of what two trucks can carry. He said that while such airdrops excite diplomats and journalists because the scenes are "photogenic," they offer little meaningful relief to families or aid workers trying to combat famine. Egeland emphasized that only a full ceasefire and general access for all organizations across all border crossings can prevent famine.
