Japan's weather agency on Wednesday downgraded tsunami alerts issued for several areas following a massive earthquake off the coast of Russia, while keeping warnings unchanged for its northern areas.
Warnings along Japan's eastern Pacific coast from the Ibaraki region all the way down to the southern Wakayama region have now been downgraded to "advisories," Japan's weather agency said on its website.
