Spokesperson: China vows action over U.S. cyberattacks

CGTN

On August 1, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun said at a regular press conference that China has taken note of a report by the Cyber Security Association of China detailing United States government cyber operations against Chinese targets, using Germany, South Korea, Singapore and the Netherlands as springboards.

Guo described the report as the "latest evidence of malicious U.S. network attacks" and reaffirmed that the U.S. remains China's primary cyber threat, exposing its hypocrisy in blaming others for the very acts it commits. He warned that China will continue to take all necessary measures to safeguard its cybersecurity.

Guo also pointed out that these attacks were launched via US allies in Europe and in countries neighboring China, and reiterated China's view that cybersecurity is a shared challenge best addressed through dialogue and cooperation.
