This year marks the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations.
Eighty years ago, driven by a longing for peace and a belief in cooperation, countries around the world came together to establish the UN – now the most important multilateral institution globally. Since then, the purposes and principles of the UN Charter have served not only as a cornerstone of international order but also as a beacon guiding humanity towards dignity, justice and sustainable development.
Yet today, the world continues to face serious challenges, including conflict, inequality and environmental crises. At this historical juncture, it is more important than ever to reflect on how we can make the multilateral system more inclusive, action-oriented and adaptable in the face of future tests.
During the 5th China-Africa Future Leaders' Dialogue, CGTN spoke with several young representatives from China and Africa to discuss the unique roles young people play in promoting global peace and social justice, reducing poverty, expanding access to education and addressing climate change.
