Brazilian President responds to U.S. tariff hike: Brazil will not bow to political pressure

00:32

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva on Sunday reaffirmed that he won't bow to political pressure from the U.S., in response to the U.S. tariff hike.

The tariffs U.S. President Donald Trump imposed last week on scores of countries are likely to stay in place rather than be cut as part of continuing negotiations, U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer said on Sunday.

Trump imposed a total of 50 percent tariffs on many goods from Brazil. However, it exempts key U.S. imports, such as orange juice and aircraft parts.
