The Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3) is set to take place in the Awaza National Tourism Area of Turkmenistan from August 5 to 8. The conference, organized by the United Nations and supported by the government of Turkmenistan, aims to promote the sustainable development of landlocked developing countries and enhance regional cooperation.
Under the theme "Progress through Partnership," the event will bring together representatives from 32 landlocked countries and their transit neighbors, as well as international organizations, civil society groups, the private sector, and research and youth institutions. The discussions will center around the challenges and opportunities facing landlocked developing countries.
A key highlight of the conference will be the launch of the Awaza Agenda for Action (2024-2034), a new action plan designed to guide the development of these countries over the next decade.
