Once a key stronghold on the Burma Road, Huitong Bridge was blown up in 1942 to halt the Japanese military advance, then rebuilt in 1944 to support the battles of Tengchong and Longling against the Japanese forces.

Today, the bridge still stands over the Nujiang River—a living relic of wartime resilience and national sacrifice, symbolizing both engineering ingenuity and the unyielding spirit of the Chinese people.
