Academician Zhou Zhonghe, a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and an expert in evolutionary biology and paleornithology, said that animated science fiction with a rigorous scientific core holds immense social value in addition to its entertainment value.
Guided by researcher Wang Xiaolin, a geologist and paleontologist at the institute, the "Ling Cage" team began their journey with a visit to an affiliate museum dedicated to the evolution of ancient animals. There, they had the opportunity to observe rare dinosaur fossils up close. These remnants of a bygone era were a rich source of inspiration for the creative minds behind the series.
This recent journey to gather inspiration is believed to have set the stage for future collaborations between the animation industry and the scientific community.
