The Chinese delegation has announced its flag bearers for Thursday night's opening ceremony at the 2025 World Games. Men's acrobatics competitor Shi Jingwei and women's roller sports participant Guo Dan will carry China's national flag in the parade of athletes, as the 12th edition of the international competition officially gets underway.
The 22-year-old Shi and his teammates won gold at the 2024 Acrobatic Gymnastics World Championships, helping China return to the top of the podium after 25 years.
The 34-year-old Guo competes on both polymer-coated and ice surfaces. She is the first Chinese roller skater to win titles at three major events - the World Championships, World Cup, and World Games. As a speed skater, the Beijing resident also took part in the 2018 PyeongChang and 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.
The opening ceremony will be held at the "Tianfu Eaves" urban gallery, with a record-setting 321 Chinese athletes set to participate in the event.
