"The Golden Rule" mosaic at the United Nations headquarters in New York City /CGTN
At the United Nations headquarters in New York City, a striking mosaic captures a powerful vision of global harmony – people of diverse nationalities standing side by side.
This artwork, titled "The Golden Rule," is based on a painting by the renowned American artist Norman Rockwell. It was presented to the United Nations in 1985 as a gift from the United States by then First Lady Nancy Reagan.
Etched across the surface are the timeless words: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." This simple yet profound message reflects the importance of unity, mutual respect and understanding in building a shared future for all.
