This year marks the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Xizang Autonomous Region. At a press conference on Tuesday, local officials highlighted the region's major progress in economic development, people's livelihoods, ecological protection and more. Officials say the region's GDP growth has ranked among the top in China for several years. In 2024, the region's GDP reached over 270 billion yuan (around $37.6 billion) – 155 times higher than in 1965.
