When Maroof Ali, a botanical researcher from Pakistan, arrived in southwest China's Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, he found more than a research destination – he found a shared mission. Drawn by the region's rich biodiversity, he collaborated with Chinese scientists in Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG) to study the ecological systems that connect us all.
