Meet Zhang Yuan, a Chinese visual artist based in Venice. His project "City Cutting" is a textile-based series that reimagines urban landscapes through the reuse of discarded luxury tailoring fabrics. Sourced from high-end mills like Loro Piana and Dormeuil, these remnants are stitched into dense, map-like surfaces. Supported by Alibaba Cloud Energy Expert, the work's carbon footprint has been scientifically assessed at 1.53 kilograms of carbon dioxide equivalent per kilogram, with a reduction of 5.39 kgCO₂e/kg over its life cycle.
