In the Chinese wartime drama "Dead to Rights," based on a true story, civilians in occupied Nanjing risk their lives to preserve photographic evidence of Japanese war crimes, defying military censorship and propaganda.

In one scene, a Japanese officer brings film negatives to a local studio to be developed. While processing them, Chinese photo technicians uncover harrowing images of mass executions, sexual violence and other atrocities. They make the brave choice to secretly copy the photos and smuggle them out, hoping the world would one day bear witness.

This clip captures the bittersweet moment when the main characters take their final group photo before going their separate ways.
