This year marks the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Xizang Autonomous Region, a moment to reflect on both progress and perception. Tibetologist Liang Junyan from the China Tibetology Research Center shares her firsthand views – from small stories to big truths – rebutting Western smears about Xizang's boarding schools and religious freedom: "We're just telling our own stories. Her views are echoed by Xu Shuang, a human rights scholar from China University of Political Science and Law, who highlights Xizang's growing openness, its unique geography and its appeal to global travelers.
