Burkinabe journalist Carine Pierrette Zongo visited China in 2024, an experience that allowed her to deeply explore the country. What surprised her most during her stay was China's strong commitment to ecology. Since then, she has developed a keen interest in China's ecological initiatives, particularly the Three-North Shelter Forest Program, also known as the Great Green Wall. She believes this project, ongoing for more than 40 years, has achieved remarkable results. According to her, the Great Green Wall "stands as a powerful symbol of the country's long-term efforts to restore land, protect rural communities, and stabilize fragile ecosystems." It is a project "often cited as a global example in the fight against desertification," worthy of study and adaptation.
