Zigong hosts over 1,000 lantern companies, whose lanterns have been showcased in more than 80 countries and regions. July and August mark the peak season for fulfilling overseas orders. Last year, exports surpassed $77 million, capturing over 90 percent of the global market for this type of lanterns.
