Every summer night in Xinzhou Ancient City, in China's Shanxi Province, molten iron heated to 1600°C is splashed into the night sky, showering the darkness with golden sparks. Massive crowds gather of a summer night to bask in this ancient molten iron fireworks display, known as the Da Tiehua performance. It is accompanied by a sizzling array of street food, dazzling folk performances and a night market that never sleeps.
